There are countless good reasons to wear rainbows but sadly only one real excuse to wear rain boots. I’ll be wishing extra-hard for rain this Pride Month (hello, June!), because I want to splash around in my new rain boots as much as possible.
Honestly, I'll probably be stomping around in them anyway. They're so comfy and cute that I wore them on the driest day in May, just 'cause. That's normal, right?
As a shopping editor, an LGBTQ ally and an ankle-boot fanatic, I was thrilled to find these high-quality, rainbow-kissed London Fog Women's Piccadilly Rain Boots on sale at Amazon, starting at $40, down from $80! I mean, London Fog, people. At these prices?
The rainbow gusset pops against the classic matte black of the boot without shouting at you. As in, it doesn't look like I'm trying to out-cute my 8-year-old. It just looks awesome. Plus, these boots are magically squeak-free.
They're crazy comfortable too — moreso than any rain boot I've ever worn. No wonder they're so popular! More than 2,400 five-star reviewers are with me on this choice. Which reminds me...I need to add my five stars.

I was first drawn to these boots by the graphic elastic rainbow gusset at the inner and outer ankle. But when I received them, I was even more impressed by the quality! The insole is nice 'n' cushy while the rubber outsole is sturdy, with good traction. The toe bed is roomy enough to accommodate my wider foot.
The bottom of the heel has a narrow, teensy lift, which felt a tad awkward at first, but I don't even notice it now. They're just comfy. The unsupported arch feels fine for regular wear, but for extended hikes, I might want to add orthotics.
Now, if you want a truly informed reference on how these bear out when it comes to long walks, here's a doozy from Amazon: "Great choice!! I like this boot — very comfortable. I’m a mail carrier, so that’s important." When a mail carrier vouches for comfort, that's worth something.
Others agree! One five-star fan wrote: "Perfect. These are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever had on my feet. They fit like a glove!...They also aren’t hot like some rubber boots...my feet didn’t sweat."
Another chimed in: "Sooo comfortable. Has a squishy feeling almost when you walk, not memory foam that compresses and does not keep form, whatever this is keeps its form and sorta springs when you walk — and its easy to slip on and off. I got them to work in the garden and as rain boots because our yard gets very swampy when it rains. I will definitely be recommending to anyone needing a good rain/work boot."
The 17 colors and patterns are killing me. How many rain boots is one gal allowed to own? I'm personally eyeing both the houndstooth and the bright red versions. The nautical navy and the whale pattern are both fitting for summertime. I could go on, but better for you to peruse them all and find your favorites.
